IP address

    Dear Friends,

    How can I find the IP address of my computer when I am connected to internet?

    go to the command prompt, type
    Code:
    ipconfig /all
    You can also see your external IP Address by going to WhatIsMyIP.com.

    Thanks for the help. But I am getting two different IP addresses from the following sources:

    1) ipconfig/all shows

    2) whatismyip.com shows

    That's because IPCONFIG is showing your computer's internal network address, which is hidden away from the internet. WhatsMyIP.com is showing your external IP address, which faces the internet.

    If you want more information, look up NAT on Wikipedia

    It also depends if your on a network or not, if you are your ip might look like 192.168.10.2 then your ip from whatsmyip.com will look different from that.
