I just purchased a Dell 545s Slimline and I want to hook it up with two monitors. The system came with an intel integrated graphics card and had only one vga port. This system has a slim body so it would only fit a a low-profile card. So I naivly thought that if I bought an additional graphics card, I would be able to run one monitor off of this card and the other one off of the integrated graphics card. However, after purchasing a graphics card, I painfully found out that the integrated graphics card is automatically shut off when the system detects a card in PCI slot. I am in desperate need to have this daul-monitor system working. And would appreciate any help possible. Here are the possibilities: 1) I read on some forum that you can change you BIOS to run integrated and pci video cards at the same time. How can I do that? Currently, under BIOS, the only setting I see under start up card are PCI and ONBOARD? 2) Can someone suggest a low profile graphics card that has two outputs (VGA/DVI) for monitors? Note that the low-profile here applies to the height of the card as well as height of the bracket (this is a slim line desktop). 3) The graphics card I currently have has an s-video output. Is it possible somehow to use this to connect to an LCD monitor (with vga and dvi ports)? 4) If I go ahead and buy another PCI video card, would I be able to run two PCI video cards simultaneously? In other words, even though the system shuts of integrated graphics, would it allow to run two pci graphics cards together? Thank you all in advance for your great help.
